TEATRO DE GUERRA / THEATRE OF WAR
Documentary - World Premiere: Berlin International Film Festival 2018
THEATRE OF WAR tells the encounter between veterans from both sides of The Malvinas/ Falklands war to carry out a common project: a documentary play premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London in June 2016 (now touring Europe until 2018) and the film itself. The main characters, selected after a casting of around 60 veterans from Argentina and the UK, write, act, and put the story on stage. In an attempt to stage what happened 34 years before, the film uses the play as an excuse to represent the reconstruction process of memory and encounters between old enemies.
Directed by Lola Arias, an Argentinian writer, theatre director and performer. She collaborates with artists from different disciplines in theatre, literature, music, film and art projects. Her productions play with the overlap zones between reality and fiction.
Edited by Alejo Hoijman and Ana Remon
